Minister of Works and Transport, Jack Warner is implicated in a scandal involving bribing members of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) to vote for Mohammed Bin Hammam in his bid to head FIFA. Packets of US$40,000 were distributed to delegates. It subsequently emerges that Warner used his ministerial position to flout the law by facilitating the undeclared entry of millions of US dollars into Trinidad and Tobago, bypassing the Customs Division. The Prime Minister says nothing.
